Importing Receive Payment Transactions with Linking to Invoices into QuickBooks Online with Transaction Pro
If you are a current user of Transaction Pro Importer for QuickBooks Online from Baystate Consulting, you may benefit from this new feature added to the receive payment import. This document goes over the required fields for a successful receive payment import and how to use the apply to invoice no field.
1. Transaction Pro Importer 2.067 or Later Required
Be sure you are running the latest release of Transaction Pro Importer 2.0 for QuickBooks Online. You can do this by clicking About/Check for Updates buttons.
2. Required fields on a Receive Payment Import
The minimum required fields on a receive payment import are Customer and check number. The check number is how Transaction Pro will know to group multiple lines onto the same receive payment transaction in QuickBooks.
3. How the new field, Apply to Invoice Number is used
If an invoice number is provided in the import file Transaction Pro will apply the amount of the payment to that invoice in your QuickBooks Online company file. If either no invoice number is supplied or Transaction Pro cannot find an exact match the payment will be applied at the customer level.
