Updated March 5, 2012: The site field is now also available on inventory adjustment imports.
In QuickBooks Enterprise 2011 Intuit added a new feature called Advanced Inventory. What this new feature provides for is management of multiple inventory locations within QuickBooks.
You can enable Advanced Inventory in your QuickBooks preferences in the Items & Inventory section.
Once Advanced Inventory is enabled you will see a new field, Site, added to the various transactions that impact inventory.
Transaction Pro Importer 4.0 for QuickBooks can import into the site field on the following transaction and list types:
- Credit Memos
- Purchase Orders
- Sales Orders
- Sales Receipts
- Inventory Adjustments
- Inventory Assemblies
If you are a current user of Transaction Pro Importer 4.0 make sure you are on the most recent build of the software by selecting the About button on the first screen of Transaction Pro Importer and then the check for updates button. If you have an Enterprise 11.0 file open that has Advanced Inventory enabled you will see a new QuickBooks field called, Inventory Site.
If you are not a current user and would like to test this out you can find out more and request a fully functioning demo here.
