We frequently get asked if Transaction Pro Importer can be used to import budgets into QuickBooks. Intuit has not provided developers access to budgets via the QuickBooks SDK so unfortunately this is not something that we can add to our product.
However, you do not have to manually key this data as you can import this via an IIF file. The easiest way to do this is to export a template from QuickBooks by going through the following QuickBooks menus:
- Lists to IIF file
Then open up this file in Excel and you can cut and paste your budget data into this spreadsheet. When you resave the file be sure to keep the iif extension. Make a backup of your QuickBooks company file in case anything goes wrong you can revert back to this prior database. Then you can import this file by following the steps below.
- IIF files
If you have transactions or lists that you would like to safely and easily import into QuickBooks you should take a look at our Transaction Pro Importer. You can request a free trial and take a test drive of how easy and powerful this tool is.
